About
Ben Ewing is a sound engineer based in Banff, Alberta.
A versatile sound engineer with a strong musical sensibility, Ben is ready to help you create whatever sound you're looking for. From pristine classical recordings to raw, crunchy garage rock, Ben will know the right approach.
You can expect quick turnaround, with excellent results along every step of your production, whether it's recording, editing or mixing. Ben is equipped for location recordings of live concerts and remote sessions. He also provides audio for video services including re-recording, editing, sound design and ADR.
Ben holds a master’s degree in Sound Recording from McGill University’s prestigious tonmeister program. After graduating, he worked for Galaxy Studios in Belgium and in post-production at Montreal’s Studio Lamajeure. Ben then spent several years back in his hometown of Toronto, where he split his time between freelance projects and working as a recording engineer for the Royal Conservatory of Music. He also taught sound recording at the Conservatory and Humber College. Currently, Ben serves as the Senior Recording Engineer at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
